Information about acupuncture.
In May 2004, a survey done by the National Institute of Health determined
that one third of adults in the United States use Complimentary Alternative
Medicine (CAM) such as Acupuncture, Herbs, Chiropractic, Homeopathy,
Massage, Yoga and Vitamins. When prayer for health is included as part
of CAM, the statistic rises to 62%.
Overall, the survey revealed that CAM use was greater among a variety
of population groups, including women; people with higher education;
those who had been hospitalized within the past year; and former smokers,
compared to current smokers or those who had never smoked.
