Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a safe, effective and natural approach to restoring health.
In accordance with natural laws of healing, Homeopathy seeks to cure
by stimulating the immune system. It is used to treat ailments for which
conventional treatment is neither available nor effective. Clinically,
it has been used successfully in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema,
acne, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and gastrointestinal disorders.
Homeopathic medicine is prescribed according to the Law of Similars,
an age-old principle that recognizes the bodys ability to heal
itself. The medicines, or remedies, are derived from natural
substances: animal, vegetable, and mineral. They are prepared in such
a way that they are non-toxic with no known side effects.
Homeopathy was widely practiced in the latter half of the 19th and
20th centuries. In some areas of New England, the Mid Atlantic States
and the Mid West, one out of four physicians was a Homeopath. Homeopathic
prescribing, demands both time and intellectual effort. The initial
consultation lasts from one up to two hours. This method of treatment
became increasingly out of step with the tempo of the times. With the
advent of wonder drugs in the early 1940s, Homeopathy
appeared to be obsolete. As the side effect of pharmaceuticals become
increasingly wide spread, Homeopathy is emerging as an alternative to
standard medicine.
